My First Commissioned Painting!

My friend Kea is going moving her daughter Kylie into a new big girl room since the nursery will be needed again soon for sweet Maggie in the beginning of September or we hope end of August.
Well, Kea asked me to paint a Lemonade Stand for Kylie's new room.
This style painting is not what I am use to working on and it is probably 3 times the size of anything I have ever done, but I agreed to try.
Here is the result.
Her walls will be a blue color and her curtains will be yellow and white stripped with some pink trim and her bedding has tulips.

You can see her blog here:
I hope this is what you were looking for Kea!
I will soon be starting on another painting for Maggie's new nursery......

Forget What it Was...Imagine what it can be!

I have to say I'm quite impressed with Eufaula's new Thrift Store....
I actually saw this blog title written on a chalk board while I was in there.
I love these boxes, they had quite a few for about $40 each.
You could put kids toys in them or put them on top of the kitchen cabinets in all that
annoying space that you never know what to do with.

Of course, I found a door- couldn't find a price though.

This frame was awful, but I love the painting- I think it was only $34.

I guess you would call both of these secretaries, but they were each $295 and looked great.

I could not get a good shot of this table, but it was great and only $65.

Plenty of old window frames for $12 each.

They had 4 of these chairs for $10 each. I even like the silver color of them- just some new fabric
that I could even staple gun myself.

Loved this frame.
I think these next three have such potential- all you need is some paint and cute knobs.
The first one in a kids room or a kitchen island
you could put baskets underneath. I couldn't find a price on this one....

Can't you see the old coke boxes under this???

The above white one and this green one were around $50-$65 I think.

This black bench would be so cute right when you walk in my door- of course covered with pillows that are karate chopped.

I want this armoire wardrobe so bad. Only $250- I have seen this same thing for $2500.
It is perfect for an old house with huge rooms but no
closet space. I could put this to use for sure. I have one now in my kitchen that I store
all my kitchen stuff in and LOVE it. Very cute for a nursery too.

This amazing chest was only $50.

This is a church pew- I can't remember the price but this picture does it no justice.

And this is what I found in only 10 minutes....

I have the itch

I go through phases and I am currently into decorating my house with thrift store prices. Every time we see a pile of junk on the side of the road Rocky jokingly asks if we need to stop so I can dig through it- he might be laughing, but I'm not. I gave him the formal tour of Eufaula yesterday and literally put the car in reverse to go back to this pile. I still don't know what it is. Maybe the stuff is for sale, maybe not- no one was there, but I really think I am going back to try to buy a prize I spotted while I was there.

And there among all the crap I spotted this old wooden brown door.

I know I can do something with this.....

After this junk pile, we passed a brand new thrift store for Eufaula, so I left Rocky in the car playing brick breaker on my phone and in the ten minutes I was allowed found a ton of amazing treasures and for great prices. I took my camera in with me, so I will try to post them all soon.

Introducing Lisa and Screech.....

Rebecca had a much cuter name for this blog post than what I wrote, but since it has been so long since the pictures were taken I already forgot it....Rebecca,help me out in the comment section please....

Anyways, our Memorial Day was spent on her patio watching Lisa and Screech- as we named them.

It really is National Geographic on her back patio. There is a male and a female and they both go back and forth all night bringing all kinds of critters back to the baby(s). We aren't sure if there is more than one, so we haven't named them yet.

Here is some more info on them.

I can honestly say, I think our owls are prettier than this model.
